The first of six girls from Orangeburg, South Carolina, she grew up in a storm of noise, chaos, and raw energy — the perfect forge for a future front woman. Music became her weapon and her refuge, built on one unshakable belief: MUSIC and TIME can heal just about everything.

She started on guitar, later grabbing the bass when the band needed someone fearless enough to carry the low end. That adaptability and fire eventually pushed her to the front of the stage, where her voice, presence, and attitude hit with the force of a steel‑toed boot. Before Bona Lisa, she sharpened her edge playing keys and delivering gritty backing vocals in the Iggy Pop tribute band Raw Power, adding a punk‑infused bite to her rock foundation.

Her influences are carved straight from the pillars of heavy rock — Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Van Halen, Kiss, Alice Cooper, The New Roses — and her vocal inspirations include powerhouses like Sass Jordan, Pat Benatar, Ann Wilson, Paul Rodgers, Glenn Hughes, Robin McAuley, Geoff Tate, Klaus Meine, and David Coverdale.
