Michal

Michal picked up electric guitar at the age of fifteen, inspired by his first guitar hero, Ritchie Blackmore.  After meeting several metal heads in high school in his native Torun, Poland, Michal developed taste for heavier music, from Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer to brutal death metal of Vader and Morbid Angel.  in 1992, Michal co-founded Demortuus, a death metal band in which he served as the lead guitarist and principal songwriter, influenced by the likes of Death, Cynic, Carcass, Megadeth, and Dream Theater.  The band was active on the local metal scene into the late nineties.  Upon immigrating to the United States and settling in Columbia, SC, in the early aughts, Michal joined Cathedrals of the Soul, a pop-rock band with which he played over 300 shows at pubs, bars, and cantinas across South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.  In 2021, after a short stint with a rock cover band, No Prior Notice, Michal returned to his metal roots and joined Bona Lisa where he contributes riffs and solos.
